A note in Mr. M's handwriting, left for staff at Box 13 HQ (Session 4). The office beyond was empty — no Mr. M, and no growling dog.

Staff, Taking Climaxtus to the vet. Hmmm he is acting strange. He did not drink his serving of coffee this morning. That's a joke. No, it's not... Should be back tomorrow. P.S. I did not pay for carry-ons.

Analysis

• Climaxtus is the Box 13 dog — the creature HBO executives fell silent over at the pilot screening (see Amy O'Nay). The note treats it as something that drinks coffee and can be "acting strange."
• "That's a joke. No, it's not..." — the note retracts its own levity in real time.
• "I did not pay for carry-ons" — left beside an FBI retainer with five plane tickets. The line reads as a warning that something is coming along uninvited on the trip to New York.
• Off-screen, Alan also failed to show to set despite having lines. The note is the in-fiction cover for a real absence — paralleling Horselover's "hiatus."
