Eric K. Carter

Eric Kristos Carter (1924–1955). A name on a New York identity card dated 1953, found in the wallet of one of the clockwork marionettes shot in the night-floors hallway (Session 6). Kip's Session 7 research resolves him into a real decorated veteran, murdered in 1955 — see Carter and Burbach Records.

Biography

Drafted 1943 at 19; served the European Theater. Late in the war his file goes spotty: he moved all over Germany in a special SS-hunting detachment with rare "theater-wide" clearance (free run of the entire ETO). Returned 1946 as first lieutenant.
Re-upped 1950 for Korea; came home after a year with "battle fatigue."
Murdered 9 SEP 1955 alongside Ronald Burbach at an unnamed NYC hotel — faces skinned off, beside gas masks and shotguns. Person of interest: Virgil Griffith.
Aftermath: his widow Antonia Sclara Carter and mother Eileen Carter sued each other over his effects and Army pension (brief dated 12 FEB 1956); outcome unrecorded.

A Real Man on a Puppet

The ID rode in a **constructed body** — gears and red tissue in a 1930s suit — and the man himself was **really murdered in 1955**, then rebuilt as a marionette that re-enacts his own killing in the night floors.
